{"id":87664,"date":"2025-11-18T08:07:27","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T08:07:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/?p=87664"},"modified":"2025-11-18T08:07:27","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T08:07:27","slug":"reform-piles-high-the-politics-of-hate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2025\/11\/18\/reform-piles-high-the-politics-of-hate\/","title":{"rendered":"Reform piles high the politics of hate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have already posted once this morning on hate-fuelled politics.<\/p>\n<p>I have to do so again. <a href=\"https:\/\/m5.emails.telegraph.co.uk\/nl\/jsp\/m.jsp?c=%40eiboEcIRm247jjBv5sBe2th%2F7DY8%2B7yyII78pFmGaSUnyDBXBzEIAWGVCm%2B06TK4XH%2FcnA3Jq0sWfsg3C1wD5A%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Telegraph<\/a> has reported Reform's hate-fuelled Budget proposals, about which they say:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[Nigel Farage] and Zia Yusuf, Reform UK\u2019s head of policy, will set out \u00a325bn in spending cuts they say will fill the fiscal hole without any tax rises for working people.<\/p>\n<p>Their plans include almost completely eradicating the foreign aid budget with a cut of more than 90 per cent, and much higher NHS surcharges for foreigners.<\/p>\n<p>Those policies alone would raise \u00a315bn, they say, with the remainder coming from plans to scrap Universal Credit for foreigners, deport foreign criminals and reform disability payments.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So, Reform's plans are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hate foreigners.<\/li>\n<li>Destroy Britain's soft power in the world.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage migration, refusing to help people stay where they are.<\/li>\n<li>Make the NHS and health a migration battleground, forcing doctors into impossible ethical situations and most likely leaving that service massively denuded of staff, not least because maybe 30% of them are themselves migrants, or closely related to those who are.<\/li>\n<li>Increase poverty and so the risk of crime.<\/li>\n<li>Punish the disabled, and those who they consider different in society, who they think are eugenically abnormal and so should be treated as \"others\" in the same way that \"foreigners\" should be, putting them together as objects for hate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is toxic. And the media is lapping it up.<\/p>\n<p>How long is it before we really do live in a fascist state?
