I usually see them in the air with lapwing. This many wading was a great site.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-87423\" src=\"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_1718-550x282.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_1718-550x282.jpeg 550w, https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_1718-768x394.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_1718-1536x788.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_1718-2048x1051.jpeg 2048w, https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_1718-600x308.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And as we watched at sunset we also saw a barn owl , setting out on crepuscular activities, and at least one vole was no more, as we watched.<\/p>\n<p>Then there was a starling murmuration of several thousand birds over the spit.<\/p>\n<p>And after the pink-foots had headed west for the night, two hen harriers slipped very quietly over us to roost in the trees by Wiveton Hall, looking over the Blakeney marshes. The grey male was beautiful, even in the dusk light, and the female followed only a minute or two later.
