{"id":87397,"date":"2025-11-08T17:12:39","date_gmt":"2025-11-08T17:12:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/?p=87397"},"modified":"2025-11-08T17:18:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-08T17:18:12","slug":"roosting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2025\/11\/08\/roosting\/","title":{"rendered":"Roosting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I mentioned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2025\/11\/08\/limiting-horizons-to-expand-them\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">earlier this afternoon<\/a> that I was going out at dusk to see if there was any roosting activity going on amongst the birds at Blakeney, in north Norfolk.<\/p>\n<p>We were rewarded. Approximately 5,000 (and maybe more) pink-footed geese flew over us. The flock might have been at least a kilometre wide, and as this recording shows, it took more than two minutes to fly overhead.
