{"id":84520,"date":"2025-07-31T06:58:27","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T05:58:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/?p=84520"},"modified":"2025-07-31T06:58:27","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T05:58:27","slug":"war-crimes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2025\/07\/31\/war-crimes\/","title":{"rendered":"War crimes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I watched this report on Channel 4 News last night.<\/p>\n<p>In fairness, they have always been first rate on their coverage of the continuing crisis in Gaza over very many years, and they persistently seek to hold Israel to account.<\/p>\n<p>There is no way those children could be suffering as they are but as a consequence of genocide.<\/p>\n<p>And then just watch and note the words of the volunteer plastic surgeon, recently back from Gaza, and her experience there, including of her scrub nurse being deliberately assassinated by Israel, with his family.<\/p>\n<p>This is genocide.<\/p>\n<p>And it is war on a civilian population.<\/p>\n<p>It is ethnic cleansing.<\/p>\n<p>This is fascism at work.<\/p>\n<p>And an hour away many Israelis will be going about the routine of their daily lives, safe in the knowledge that they can since countries like the UK will not stop their political leaders and their military, in which they will know people, given the nature of Israeli society, from committing war crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Why should we be silent in the face of that?<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&#039;Skin on top of bones&#039;: Gaza aid coming in, but not enough\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jhyEYb_mLOg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I watched this report on Channel 4 News last night.
