This genuinely helps.<\/p>\n<p>That said, I noticed other poll data on AI published by Substack yesterday. They had polled 2,000 of their writers and <a href=\"https:\/\/on.substack.com\/p\/the-substack-ai-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found interesting data. <\/a>As they noted:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Out of about 2,000 surveyed publishers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>45.4% said they\u2019re using AI<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>52.6% said they\u2019re not<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2% were unsure<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The data on the age of those using AI was interesting:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-84327\" src=\"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-25-at-07.17.26-550x493.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"493\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-25-at-07.17.26-550x493.png 550w, https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-25-at-07.17.26-335x300.png 335w, https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-25-at-07.17.26-447x400.png 447w, https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Screenshot-2025-07-25-at-07.17.26.png 652w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Older creators on Substack were more inclined to use AI. By this, I mean that once I have an idea, I use AI to transform my draft text and ideas into video prompts, which I then use to maintain the narrative flow of the videos. This saves a lot of time writing PowerPoint presentations, but the script is mine throughout, and I do not speak to pre-written texts.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, I then use AI to suggest ways to promote the resulting videos on YouTube, which appears to be working. That was a skill I did not have, and I am learning it, and AI is helping.<\/p>\n<p>What I am not doing is using it much for ideation or research. I think we must be very early adopters to use it so much. But let me be clear, everyone using Google now uses AI in some way, whilst many spellcheckers and dictation services, which I use all the time, are also AI-based. You may already be using AI more than you think.<\/p>\n<p>Comments are welcome.
