{"id":82852,"date":"2025-06-03T06:19:28","date_gmt":"2025-06-03T05:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/?p=82852"},"modified":"2025-06-03T06:19:28","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T05:19:28","slug":"did-you-just-bullshit-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2025\/06\/03\/did-you-just-bullshit-me\/","title":{"rendered":"Did you just bullshit me?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was amused <a href=\"https:\/\/on.ft.com\/43ZxO7u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to note this in the FT<\/a> this morning, given my observation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2025\/06\/02\/chat-gpt-a-word-of-warning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on the accuracy of ChatGPT yesterday<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Big Four accountancy firms are racing to create a new type of audit that verifies the effectiveness of artificial intelligence tools as they seek to profit from clients\u2019 demand for proof that their AI systems work and are safe.<\/p>\n<p>Deloitte, EY and PwC told the Financial Times that they were preparing to launch AI assurance services as they hope to use reputations gained in financial audits to win work assessing whether AI systems, such as those in self-driving cars and cancer-detecting programmes, perform as intended.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Perhaps they'd like to start with working out why ChatGPT is happy just making stuff up? I should think these firms could make a fortune out of that.
