As the BBC has reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Care workers will no longer be recruited from overseas as part of a crackdown on visas for lower-skilled workers, the home secretary has told the BBC.<\/p>\n

Yvette Cooper said it is \"time to end that care worker recruitment from abroad\" and rules will change this year - instead requiring firms to hire British nationals or extend visas of overseas workers already in the country.<\/p>\n

The government plans to unveil\u00a0changes to visa and recruitment laws on Monday<\/a>\u00a0in a bid to cut net migration, and says measures will cut up to 50,000 lower-skilled and care workers coming to the UK over the next year.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I am left almost speechless by this.<\/p>\n

People will not get the care they need.<\/p>\n

The cost of frontline council services will be increased.<\/p>\n

Care homes will go out of business in ever-increasing numbers.<\/p>\n

Communities in other countries, supported by remittances from the UK, will lose out.<\/p>\n

And all because Labour is pandering to a bunch of far-right racists.<\/p>\n

Demonising migrants will never work for Labour. Farage will always do that better than Starmer. No one will be taken in, let alone fooled by this.<\/p>\n

And in the meantime, what Labour should be doing is not being done. What is that thing Labour should be doing? It's simple. They should be implementing the Taxing Wealth Report 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We need to redistribute wealth in this country.<\/p>\n

Then Labour could deliver the public services we need.<\/p>\n

Then they could provide the employment we need.<\/p>\n

And they would reduce inequality in this country.<\/p>\n

Labour could even help people in need.<\/p>\n

Instead, the callous individuals who head the government and who pretend to be Labour politicians are playing to the fascists whilst choosing to hurt hundreds of thousands of people.<\/p>\n

I never want to hate anyone. It's becoming ever harder not to in the case of this government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
