{"id":82117,"date":"2025-05-06T07:30:48","date_gmt":"2025-05-06T06:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/?p=82117"},"modified":"2025-05-06T07:30:48","modified_gmt":"2025-05-06T06:30:48","slug":"progress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2025\/05\/06\/progress\/","title":{"rendered":"Progress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2025\/05\/05\/why-write\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I mentioned yesterday<\/a>, I dedicated my bank holiday Monday to work on the plan for a new book.<\/p>\n<p>After seven hours in coffee shops and having blown the coffee budget well and truly, I had a 3,700-word plan.<\/p>\n<p>It is not complete as yet, but it is ninety per cent done.<\/p>\n<p>It will require editing, more thought and some polishing before it goes to the publisher. However, at the end of a period of intense and enjoyable concentration, I had proved to my satisfaction that there is an idea worth turning into a book. The relative ease with which the idea flowed proved that, saying which, the publisher may disagree.<\/p>\n<p>I admit the effort has left me drained and maybe unwilling to write so much this morning, but when things flow as they did yesterday, there is a lot of pleasure to be had in the process of thinking and writing. My experience is that if that is how the process feels, the words produced are usually worthwhile.
