We all know our water system is broken. Raw sewage floods our rivers and seas. Our infrastructure crumbles while private companies rake in billions. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s our water, and we paid for infrastructure with our bills, and yet we had no say.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

But in just a few weeks we\u2019ll see the biggest opportunity to fix our broken system in decades.<\/span><\/p>\n

On 28th March, Clive Lewis MP\u2019s Water Bill is being debated in Parliament.<\/span><\/strong> This Bill is an unmissable chance to put public ownership on the table and create a national conversation about how our water is managed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The statistics are staggering. In 2023, raw sewage was dumped into our rivers and seas at least 464,056 times\u2014an average of 1,271 times a day. That\u2019s a 50% increase from 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

The government claims to be tackling this crisis, yet its Commission on Water is refusing to engage in questions of governance or public ownership - something 82% of the British public want. Instead of listening to the public, <\/span>they are listening to hedge fund managers and executives\u2014the same people who profit from this disaster.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Regulation alone won\u2019t fix this. That\u2019s tinkering at the edges, and it will not resolve the core issue. <\/span><\/p>\n

As <\/span>The i <\/span><\/em>recently revealed, the new Water (Special Measures) Bill, supposedly designed to clean up the private water system, <\/span>will not stop sewage dumping in National Parks, never mind other less protected vulnerable ecosystems<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

90% of the world\u2019s water is public.\u00a0 The evidence is clear. The will of the people is clear. The government cannot ignore this democratic demand.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

We have a chance to use our voice. Clive Lewis\u2019s Water Bill will be debated for the first time on 28th March. We need as many MPs there as possible representing the interests of their constituents and their environment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We only have 7 weeks left.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

No matter their stance on water, <\/span>your MP needs to hear from you<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span> We want every single MP to be flooded with emails about water.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The debate falls on a Friday, typically a constituency day for MPs.<\/span><\/strong>They won\u2019t attend unless they know their constituents care.<\/span><\/p>\n

Your email is more powerful than you think.<\/span><\/strong> When MPs see an issue dominating their inbox, they take notice. They show up.<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve already had almost 4,500 letters sent in just a few days.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
