{"id":78806,"date":"2024-11-24T09:27:22","date_gmt":"2024-11-24T09:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/?p=78806"},"modified":"2024-11-24T09:27:22","modified_gmt":"2024-11-24T09:27:22","slug":"does-labour-just-not-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2024\/11\/24\/does-labour-just-not-care\/","title":{"rendered":"Does Labour just not care?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have just heard Liz Kendall MP, who is Secretary of State for Work and Pensions saying on the morning media round that Labour believes that everyone should have the chance to be \u2019earning or learning\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This is another trite sound bite.<\/p>\n<p>What about those who are caring?<\/p>\n<p>What about those who are sick?<\/p>\n<p>What about those unable to do either of these things in a formal sense?<\/p>\n<p>What about the retired?<\/p>\n<p>What about those for whom there is no work or training they can afford to access, most especially now bus fares are increasing?<\/p>\n<p>These questions are so obvious, what is Labour thinking?
