In this morning's short video<\/a>, I suggest that any politician who says \u2018let\u2019s take the politics out of this\u2019 actually means \u2018let\u2019s bring the market in because we don\u2019t want to address this problem\u2019. In that case, tell them that all of life is politics and if they don\u2019t agree they should get another job.<\/p>\n

All of life is politics.<\/em><\/p>\n

It annoys me intensely when politicians say \u201clet's take the politics out of this\u201d, whether that's the health service, or education, or social care, or whatever else.<\/em><\/p>\n

Social care is particularly relevant at present because Wes Streeting saying we should take the politics out of that.<\/em><\/p>\n

What they actually mean is \u201clet's put the market into this and let's take the politicians out of it\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

No.<\/em><\/p>\n

No to anybody else who says such things.<\/em><\/p>\n

All of life is politics because politics is about power relationships. And if social care isn't about power relationships, what the heck is it about?<\/em><\/p>\n
