In a land not that far from here, which many people in this country have visited, there is a genocide going on.<\/p>\n
Millions of people have been forcibly displaced from their homes.<\/p>\n
Many innocent victims have been killed by an invading force acting contrary to international law.<\/p>\n
A place with the highest rate of child amputees in the world has been created in a matter of months.<\/p>\n
People are dying of starvation.<\/p>\n
All the major hospitals and universities have been destroyed.<\/p>\n
Schools have been bombed.<\/p>\n
All of this will continue today.<\/p>\n
And there has not been a word said about this that I can recall during the course of this election campaign.<\/p>\n
Why is that?<\/p>\n
How is that?<\/p>\n
Do we not care?<\/p>\n
Have we turned a blind eye?<\/p>\n
Well we continue to turn a blind eye?<\/p>\n
Why will no-one talk about this deliberate human-made humanitarian crisis?<\/p>\n
I wish I knew the answers to those questions.<\/p>\n
