But, just what are those values? Based upon careful consideration of his governments, comments, conduct and legislation, it would seem that they include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Racism<\/li>\n<li>Discrimination, of all sorts<\/li>\n<li>A tolerance of :\n<ul>\n<li>Misogyny<\/li>\n<li>Increasing inequality<\/li>\n<li>Climate change denial<\/li>\n<li>Wealth built upon slavery and colonial exploitation<\/li>\n<li>English nationalism to the exclusion of the Welsh, Scottish and people of Northern Ireland<\/li>\n<li>Economic exploitation<\/li>\n<li>Corruption<\/li>\n<li>Genocide<\/li>\n<li>Tax havens<\/li>\n<li>Hunting with dogs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Undermining of the rule of law<\/li>\n<li>Vilification of public servants<\/li>\n<li>Vote rigging and gerrymandering<\/li>\n<li>A refusal to honour legal obligations<\/li>\n<li>A dislike of:\n<ul>\n<li>Those who work for a living<\/li>\n<li>Social housing<\/li>\n<li>The young<\/li>\n<li>Those on low incomes<\/li>\n<li>Those with disabilities<\/li>\n<li>Single parents<\/li>\n<li>Any type of non-heterosexual orientation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Intolerance of\n<ul>\n<li>The SNP<\/li>\n<li>Plaid Cymru<\/li>\n<li>The Green Party<\/li>\n<li>Scotland<\/li>\n<li>Wales<\/li>\n<li>Northern Ireland<\/li>\n<li>Ireland<\/li>\n<li>The EU and all its member states<\/li>\n<li>State schools<\/li>\n<li>Libraries<\/li>\n<li>Theatre<\/li>\n<li>The arts<\/li>\n<li>The NHS<\/li>\n<li>Anyone claiming a benefit, including the state pension, unless they also have a significant private pension as well, when doing so is just fine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Those who are members of:\n<ul>\n<li>The National Trust<\/li>\n<li>RSPB<\/li>\n<li>Oxfam<\/li>\n<li>XR<\/li>\n<li>A Wildlife Trust<\/li>\n<li>Any faith but Christianity and Judaism, but with an honourable pass being given for Hindus right now<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In contrast, it would seem that supporting the following are all clear indications of holding an opinion contrary to British values:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Free and fair elections<\/li>\n<li>Proportional representation<\/li>\n<li>An end to discrimination in the right to vote<\/li>\n<li>An end to discrimination, full stop<\/li>\n<li>Respect for human rights<\/li>\n<li>Respect for the rule of law<\/li>\n<li>Justice<\/li>\n<li>A right to economic and social equality<\/li>\n<li>Free speech<\/li>\n<li>The right to protest<\/li>\n<li>Action to tackle climate change<\/li>\n<li>Support for the Green New Deal<\/li>\n<li>Religious tolerance<\/li>\n<li>Social tolerance<\/li>\n<li>National self-determination<\/li>\n<li>The right to have enough to eat<\/li>\n<li>The right to a roof over your head<\/li>\n<li>Speed limits<\/li>\n<li>Peace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rishi Sunak spoke yesterday of the need for the government, police and others to stand up against those who oppose British values.
