It was a dawn start for birdwatching in Walberswick, Suffolk, this morning:<\/p>\n

It was very cold: it certainly felt like several degrees minus.<\/p>\n

Amongst the rewards was this:<\/p>\n

In the relative foreground is my first ever eider duck in the south of England. I expect them in Northumberland, but not in Suffolk. They are magnificent, even in the mist.<\/p>\n

And this was amusing:<\/p>\n

Not everyone gets turnstones on the seeds they put out for the birds, but this was Southwold harbour.<\/p>\n

It was worth getting very cold to be out there this morning, even if the brent geese I had hoped for never put in an appearance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
