It comes from the Sunday Times this weekend. That answer is not less than \u00a3895 billion, which just happens to be the current target sum for quantitative easing, and may be considerably more when the need for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2019\/12\/06\/funding-the-green-new-deal-how-we-could-save-for-the-planet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">green quantitative easing<\/a> is taken into account.<\/p>\n<p>Green QE is, of course, the variant on this theme that will be used to directly fund the process of change required to tackle the climate crisis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have just had this drawn to my attention.
