And business would like to be rid of it. From a tax perspective I can share their view. From society's perspective that is harder to justify: too many do not have access to banking.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accesstocash.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Access to Cash Review<\/a> has reported this morning:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>The Access to Cash Review \u2014 Final Report<\/strong>\u00a0calls on the Government, regulators and banks to act now or risk leaving millions behind.<\/p>\n<p>The Review\u2019s action plan to protect cash access calls for:<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Government and regulators to step in urgently<\/strong>\u00a0to ensure cash remains viable<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><strong>A \u201cGuarantee to Cash Access\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0for all, including those in remote and rural areas<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Those providing essential services to be required to allow consumers to pay by cash<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><strong>A more efficient, effective and resilient wholesale cash infrastructure\u00a0<\/strong>to ensure that cash remains viable as its use declines.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So, how can cash work?<\/p>\n<p>And do we need anything bigger than a \u00a310 note?<\/p>\n<p>Discuss......<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cash is becoming scarce.
