He co-authored the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.financeforthefuture.com\/GreenQuEasing.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">first green quantitative easing<\/a> publication:<\/p>\n<p><em>Sorry <a class=\"u-underline\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/politics\/video\/2017\/apr\/18\/does-brenda-from-bristol-have-the-best-reaction-to-the-election-news-video\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">Brenda from Bristol<\/a>, but another election looms, and this time a progressive alliance of Labour, the Lib Dems, the SNP, Plaid and the Greens need to get their policy ducks in a row to win it. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Firstly, these must provide hope, not just for the young, but for every community in the country. To do this Jeremy Corbyn must revisit and vigorously shake his people\u2019s QE \u201cmoney tree\u201d. This could pay for real economic activity on the ground via decentralised infrastructure projects to make the nation\u2019s 30 million buildings energy efficient, ensure a shift to localised renewable energy, and the building of local transport systems.<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"dfp-ad--inline1\" class=\"js-ad-slot ad-slot ad-slot--inline ad-slot--inline1 ad-slot--rendered\" data-link-name=\"ad slot inline1\" data-name=\"inline1\" data-mobile=\"1,1|2,2|300,250|fluid\" data-desktop=\"1,1|2,2|300,250|620,1|620,350|fluid\" data-google-query-id=\"CKOftZeputQCFWyF7QodrTcEag\"><\/div>\n<p><em>Secondly, the divide between young and old must be bridged by policies fostering intergenerational solidarity. <a class=\"u-underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/society\/older-people\" data-link-name=\"auto-linked-tag\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\">Older people<\/a> with significant saving should be offered \u201chousing bonds\u201d, paying, say, 3% interest to help fund a massive council and affordable homes programme. Tuition fees would be scrapped, but so too must be the threat of having to lose a home to pay for care, or having to scrabble for means-tested benefits such as heating allowances.
