Muslims would have a good claim. So do women. And Mexicans. And the LGBTI community. As well as those who tell the truth.<\/p>\n<p>Now we know he is quite specifically targeting the media. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2017\/feb\/24\/media-blocked-white-house-briefing-sean-spicer\" target=\"_blank\">He has banned many of them from a White House briefing.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0It wasn't because of lack of space. Nor was it because of urgency that some could not make it. No, they were banned because they were not on message.<\/p>\n<p>That's an assault on press freedom.<\/p>\n<p>But it's not going to end there. Apparently Trump is planning to ban the press quoting unattributed sources, which is the basis of much of the news and vital to the way the media holds governments to account.<\/p>\n<p>In whatever order Trump came for many already now he is coming for the press. Any semblance of freedom\u00a0is now at risk. In my worst moments I did not really think this would happen. And it is.
