But that's not really surprising. This is what the data shows:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-12-at-20.47.59.png\" width=\"553\" height=\"734\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Conservatives have borrowed more in total and on average than Labour whether in original or current prices.<\/p>\n<p>And Labour has a better record on debt repayment.<\/p>\n<p>And this is true even when the years impacted by the 2008 crisis are taken out of account.<\/p>\n<p>But Labour never says that.<\/p>\n<p>And so neither does the media.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some blog posts get a life of their own it seems.
