The accords, agreed this month, currently only cover individual taxpayers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is a green light to the new European Union Savings Tax Directive.<\/p>\n<p>Austria is now the last obstacle <a title=\"The direction of travel is clear: the fight against tax fraud is gaining momentum and that\u2019s vital for the well-being of us all\" href=\"http:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2013\/04\/29\/the-direction-of-travel-is-clear-the-fight-against-tax-fraud-is-gaining-momentum-and-thats-vital-for-the-well-being-of-us-all\/\" target=\"_blank\">and is clearly crumbling<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In that case Europe is heading for a new era of tax\u00a0transparency\u00a0on companies, trusts, foundations and\u00a0other\u00a0arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>I began lobbying actively on this in Europe in 2008.
