It says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Cayman Islands to open up to\u00a0scrutiny<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The truth is a little different because as it notes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Cayman Islands are poised to break with decades of secrecy by opening thousands of companies and\u00a0hedge funds\u00a0domiciled on the offshore Caribbean territory to greater scrutiny.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yes, this is only about hedge funds, and only because of industry pressure.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/taxjustice.blogspot.co.uk\/2011\/10\/financial-secrecy-index-2011-focus-on_05.html\" target=\"_blank\">core secrecy that makes Cayman a tax haven<\/a>\u00a0that ranks at number 2 on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.financialsecrecyindex.com\/2011results.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tax Justice Network\u00a0Financial\u00a0Secrecy\u00a0Index<\/a>\u00a0 is\u00a0carrying\u00a0on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The FT has a somewhat misleading headline this morning.
