I like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fairpensions.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">FairPensions<\/a> as an organisation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TRAINING DAY: Saturday, 17<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0November 2012 (10am - 4.30pm)<\/strong><br \/>\nUNISON Centre,\u00a0130 Euston Road,\u00a0London NW1 2AY<\/p>\n<p>FairPensions is running a day-long training for people who want to use the power of their pension fund to campaign for\u00a0social and environmental justice.<\/p>\n<p>If you belong to a workplace pension scheme this training is open to you.<\/p>\n<p>Pension funds have huge economic clout and can rapidly bring concerns to the attention of top decision-makers in the business world. Whether it\u2019s low pay, child labour, excessive executive bonuses or climate change, our pension funds have the power and responsibility to challenge corporate injustice.<\/p>\n<p>Your pension fund takes care of your long-term savings\u00a0and that gives you the right to have your say.<\/p>\n<p>At the training you will learn:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How and where your\u00a0pension fund invests your savings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>How to communicate effectively with your pension provider about responsible investment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>How to campaign on a wide range of environmental and social issues using shareholder activism as a powerful tool for change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>How to build wider support for responsible investment amongst your colleagues and by your employer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Trainees will leave the\u00a0workshop with practical skills and tools for shareholder activism. You will also receive simple written materials and guides to responsible investment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fairpensions.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">FairPensions<\/a> is building a UK-wide network of Responsible Investment Champions.
