It has said that if it had more staff it would, in the PAC's\u00a0opinion, collect more tax.<\/p>\n<p>HMRC's response has been quick in coming. They've announced another 1,638 job losses at the\u00a0following\u00a0locations:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Screen-shot-2012-05-24-at-11.02.26.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15724\" title=\"Screen shot 2012-05-24 at 11.02.26\" src=\"http:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Screen-shot-2012-05-24-at-11.02.26.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"253\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is tax madness.<\/p>\n<p>It's economic madness.<\/p>\n<p>It's madness when you realise that these people are paying for the services we're all going to lose in the NHS, schools, social services and in pension and other payments as a result of the fact that they won't be collecting the tax due to meet those needs.<\/p>\n<p>That's why <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcs.org.uk\/en\/news_and_events\/pcs_comment\/index.cfm\/id\/DD107C2A-02CB-4CB9-8264E2A4137330DE\" target=\"_blank\">I'm at the PCS conference this afternoon<\/a>.
