According to analysts at Shore Capital, UK companies\u2019 cash flow has grown 40 per cent since the depths of the financial crisis at the end of 2008.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So let me offer two explanations.<\/p>\n<p>First, recession is good for very big business: they've slashed costs and wages, and floated their profits offshore.<\/p>\n<p>Second, they don't want that to change so they argue for its\u00a0continuation\u00a0- hence their support for Osborne's suicidal economic policies.<\/p>\n<p>Third, as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/business\/2011\/dec\/12\/britain-ruled-by-banks?INTCMP=SRCH\" target=\"_blank\">Aditya Chakrabortty argued in the Guardian this week<\/a> (admittedly with\u00a0regard\u00a0to banks, but he could have made the same\u00a0point\u00a0more widely)\u00a0because\u00a0Labour lives in fear of big business:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It means that opposition to the rule of banks isn't found in Westminster, but in tents outside St Paul's or among a few grizzled academics and NGO-hands \u2014 with no political vehicle to carry them.
