It says of itself that it:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>is an independent, non-party political coalition<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As far as it goes \u00a0that may\u00a0be true. But in <a href=\"http:\/\/thescotsman.scotsman.com\/features\/Could-the-Crown-Dependencies-offer.6787758.jp\" target=\"_blank\">The Scotsman this morning<\/a> it was arguing for tax competition.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"http:\/\/cffr.co.uk\/campaign-news\/campaign-publications\/the-real-cost-of-the-calman-proposals\/\" target=\"_blank\">on its web site it argues <\/a>for greater fiscal freedom for Scotland as if this would somehow get round the EU requirements on a cut in the grant from Westminster - which it would not.<\/p>\n<p>Typically for such an organisation, no indication of its funding is provided on its web site.<\/p>\n<p>So this seems to be like so many so called think tanks not about thinking at all, but all about promoting the <span>neoliberal<\/span> mantra that tax <span>competition<\/span> is good.<\/p>\n<p>It's left Ireland bust.<\/p>\n<p>It brought the world to crisis in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>The Crown Dependencies are heading for <span>bankruptcy<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>But still they argue for this policy of destruction.<\/p>\n<p>I sincerely hope the people of Scotland take note and ignore this siren call.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Scottish\u00a0Campaign\u00a0for Fiscal\u00a0Responsibility is a new organisation, launched this month.
