It’s nice to be popular, but…

Posted on

I do, on occasion, note the increasing popularity of this blog and its related YouTube channel in posts on this site.

I do so with pleasure because the increase in both clearly indicates a rise in interest in the ideas that I am trying to promote. However, one consequence of this is that an increasing number of people are beginning to email me, and sometimes quite often.

Sometimes, these are requests for clarification on a particular issue.

On other occasions, they are simply suggestions on what I might like to either post about or make videos on.

On occasion, they are direct requests for information that a simple Google search might provide.

Rarely do I think that they are from people who are seeking to waste my time.

However, I think it is only fair of me to note that I am finite, and that I, as a result, am not now succeeding in keeping up with replies to all such emails. There are now simply too many of them for me to reply to them as I would like.

I do look at every comment on this plug.

I do review the comments on the YouTube channel quite regularly, if only need to get rid of the very obvious spammers who seem to, rather boringly, turn up to either repetitively claim that their broker has made them a fortune, or to suggest that I am a Marxist, when all that reveals is that they have no idea what Marx had to say, because if they did they would know that  I am not of that persuasion.

I could, of course, put an auto responder on my email account to suggest that I cannot handle all comments received, but that would be tedious for people who use it for other purposes.

So, might I, therefore, make a request?

Might you not write to me suggesting topics that you would like me to cover? As you will have noted, I am rarely short of ideas on what to post about or to make videos about. There is, however, a continuing narrative theme I seek to create within those posts, and that does not always mean that I want to produce videos on other topics, however pressing they might appear to you. I do not have unlimited time to produce either blogs or videos, and therefore, I research topics that really interest me, and rarely need suggestions from others to look at. I am sorry, but this is a fact. However, if you still want to make such suggestions, might you put them in the comments section on the blog?

Secondly, if you want my opinion on a topic, please make sure you have either, first of all, done a search on the issue, or even used an AI system to find out what I think about an issue. My experience suggests that these search engines are pretty accurate, and if you choose the right search engine, they are referenced so that you can find the support for the suggestions made.

Third, if you want anything else, please be precise about what it is that you are seeking. I sometimes get very long emails that are not very well constructed, that I have to try to decipher to work out what the question I'm being asked is. I don't have time to do that on all occasions. As a result, those emails do, I am afraid, very often go unanswered because I am not sure what to do with them and cannot engage in lengthy correspondence. I am not a personal consulting service: time is not available for that.

I stress that I'm not ungrateful. If I could, I would love to answer every email that I get, but that is just not possible now. I hope you might understand.
