YouTube's algorithm drew this to my attention yesterday evening:
Our YouTube channel has hit one million views since it began. However, as the pattern makes clear, the latest burst of activity is on a vastly bigger scale than was managed in 2020/21.
In addition, the trend is upward, with traffic on many days now reaching the levels on this blog or even exceeding them. Given that TikTok generates more traffic than YouTube, this seems to be working.

Please do NOT rush it! Quality is MORE important than quantity. Do not lose sight that your audience sees QUALITY as your trade mark.
Also, being a Yank Lost in Space, I did not understand this statement: “Given that TikTok generates more traffic than YouTube, this seems to be working.” Are you implying you get more traffic on TikTok?

And we are pushing quality more now – rejecting more recordings as a result and doing second and more takes

I have a couple of concerns with respect to NC. Specifically, its pro-Russian coverage of Ukraine. Furthermore in the case of articles on Ukraine, the below the line comments have to be seen to be believed, Putin is treated as some sort of “legitimate” head of state. I visit NC mainly to see how mad it is.
The NHS article was one of the more OK ones, and raised legitimate concerns. That said, some of the articles, & specifically by the likes of Yves Smith are designed to give support to the Russian government, the one that bombs childrens hospitals – whilst glossing over this reality & ditto the other reality that Pulter invaded Ukraine. I do not regard NC, for the most part, as a source of sane criticism of anything – & I am not known for being a shrinking violet with respect to robust criticism of assorted status quos. You have been warned ref NC.
