I have an article in the latest edition of Bylines Gazette - which features writing from the growing number of regional Bylines publications around the UK:
I think all the Bylines publications are part of a necessary and growing alternative form of journalism, given how corrupted much of the mainstream is. You can subscribe here. I do.

And by extension, there is no consideration of “employment waste”, or “green energy waste”, and that’s because of the language and frameworks we use.
I too subscribe to Bylines but I’m annoyed that you have to then also subscribe to the gazette, TV in addition to the basic subscription – I just can’t afford it to be honest.
On the theme of waste though, just about every decision this government has taken since 2010 has caused waste downstream in the public sector.
2010 was bad enough with suspension of projects that had already incurred significant capital input because of the first wave of cuts to come through via austerity. We wasted millions in my LA.
And yet again in 2022/23, Hunt’s emergency budget has got plenty of Council’s in a tailspin. We’ve expended hundreds of thousands of pounds on certain newbuild projects to be told that they will not happen because of the below inflation rent increases in public sector housing from next year. We also now face having to lose right to buy receipts that would have been spent.
Incompetence or deliberate or both? Whichever, it’s no way to run a modern country.
I think it is they all need money…
