I was at university in 1977.
This was one of the songs that shared my life back then. Maybe it still is.
Christine McVie, thanks for the memory, and rest in peace.
Thanks for reading this post.

Lovely lady , lovely song – apparently written in 30 minutes. RIP.
My favourite song off that album is ‘Dreams’ and ‘Songbird’ is up there too.
But for me, Fleetwood Mac will always be about the guitarists – Peter Green, ably supported by Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan. Green played with a depth of emotion that for me was unparalleled by any white blues player of his generation.
You oldie….even if you’re younger than me
I do not much relate to that era of FM
Correct. Fleetwood Mac a bit ‘Radio 2’ without Green.
Have to agree entirely. Pete Greenbaum had his own unique sound and an excellent voice. No one but no one has ever bettered the original version of – Black magic Woman by Pete. Fleetwood Mac – Live in Boston, superb.
Sadly whilst playing in Germany Pete got in with a weird German couple who were abusing LSD and that spelled the end of the original Blues band and sent Pete on a long journey out in the wilderness for decades – so it goes.
The new band had nothing to do with R&B but were a knockout in their own right. I know a lot of young ones will say I’m just an old man living in the past but so much music from the late 60s’ to the end of the 70s’ is timeless and as fresh today as then.
Agree with the last….as my listening shows….but not entirely
First heard Christine Perfect on I’d Rather Go Blind with Stan Webb’s Chicken Shack. Came out at the same time as Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac and Man of the World. Both real blues tracks. Great though later Fleetwood Mac were, I’m also in the camp that the ‘originals’ were the best.
Both of them special talents in their different ways.
Keir Starmer must be an early Fleetwood Mac fan – he’s the Albatross round the neck of the Labour Party.
🙂
Good track
