I finally got around to a holiday, having got to the end (I hope) of the post-Covid sinusitis that plagued me all summer, and then the date of the 'fiscal event' was announced. The holiday carried on.
I apologise if the coverage was less than expected, but the holiday was very good. North Wales is a very good place for walking:

It was in great form last week.

Saying no to renewable energy in National Parks and subsidised meat-rearing and grazing land are the old ideas. Pretty though.
It’s fair to note that my wife and I discussed the role of sheep in creating the view I showed whilst we looked at it. We never eat lamb.
During the holiday we also discussed onshore wind. Who wouldn’t if they cared about the environment?

Having been around a bit, my view is that Wales is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

Ffestiniog Railway at Tanybwlch
That’s the Croessor valley, with the track bed of the former horse powered Croessor tramway forming the path. Requires a degree of fitness, but beautiful
Much obliged – I can see why it is a tramway – reminds of the Cromford and High Peak Railway near where I live – you need to be fit to get up there too although most of it is hidden in a tree bound cutting until you get to Middleton Top where the engine house was. It’s a fabulous autumn or winter walk.

I was saying to my oldest son that I need to dig out my mothers birth certificate – she was born in Sketty – suburb of Swansea so that when Wales becomes an independent state we can have Welsh rather than English citizenship

The Centre for Alternative Technology is fascinating – and then keep going up the valley and walk to Ratgoed. It is well worth it, easy to do – and beautiful. Portmeirion is not my thing – I walked by last week
