I have a pile of work to finish today with my Sheffield colleague, Prof Andrew Baker. With luck it will be done by this evening. He has already delivered way beyond his required contribution on it over the last ten days.
And then, I admit, I am going to accept the advice provided here about Covid. I have, this week at least, worked through it and I am now feeling the consequences. So I will be taking a bit of a break, because to continue to work would not be wise.
I am planning a few days off to go nowhere, but rest. Moderation will also be achy. Sorry, but I think it necessary.
Thanks for reading this post.

Some R&R is good. Hope the weather is suitable enough for the odd walk or, at least, sitting in the garden (with a suitable tipple:-) )
Enjoy.

Sounds very sensible. Take care and best wishes for full recovery.
You are doing the best thing, Richard.
Recuperation, rest and gentle recreation for a few days is well in order.
It also gives time for reflection and musing – essential vitamins for the enquiring mind.
Make the most of it!
What the above all said – yes, you keep yourself good and well Ricahrd.
Do take care, Richard. Everyone I know who has had Covid says it’s not something that can just be shrugged off.
Good luck – its not funny despite the official disinformation. Apparently taking it very easy is advised.
Great river and fenland strolls. And the cool, meditation and music in St Ethelreda’s…..
Enjoy.
Thanks
The river tomorrow, probably

Narrow Gauge Modellers Event on Sunday
Thanks
But I am looking at very low energy expenditure this weekend
What they’ve all said…
Come back when you’re better. We’ll just have to survive without you!
You have been shown on this “Truth to power” video Richard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaEK4ygl-1s
Thanks
It’s good
I will post it
And enjoy the birds! Take care.
Rest well .
I have some energy this morning
But I think I will be cautious for a bit longer
A deserved break, plus you’ll need your strength, wit and wisdom for the ending of the Boris Blunder Bus to Liz ‘dumb As Bat Shit’ Truss.
Like Bozo and his clownery, the novelty will soon wear off as she get a visit from the ghost of Dunning Kruger.
Liz and her overconfidence in her abilities as head girl of the UK ( she still thinks gets a head prefect badge) really frightens me. The only solace is the ‘Now Show’ on R4 , their piss take is spot on …I know!!!! Who’d of thought it! BUSY LIZZY, who likes to ‘hit roads’ (for some reason).
Take care, read your posts via e-mail and constantly refer to your MFNMTFF book, especially about QE ( which to be honest, I still struggle with the concept).
Movies if wanting some escape; Highly recommend ‘Nebraska’ (2013) a brilliant intergenerational study, with some great acting. ‘Spirit of 45’ just as a reminder of what we are fighting for, a fair and decent society ( always in floods of tears through the whole film).
Thanks Grant
Thanks
May I just suggest that if this past weekend has been a break, I should hate to see you in a mad working frenzy! Be careful and take care.
I wrote most of a chapter of the book – and finished some other work, I admit….
