I have met and recorded with Peter Oborne. We clearly do not agree with each other on many things, but almost for that reason this is worth watching:

Dear Peter Oborne. A splendid piece of hatchetry and well-deserved – though it is still startling to listen to his remaining slightly nostalgic attempts to reflect on his time of enchantment with Johnson. However, full marks for highlighting the too little commented on – but very revealing – episode of Starmer refusing to join all the other Opposition parties in their approach to the Speaker to demand an enquiry into Johnson’s repeated lying to the House and also for Oborne’s very precise nailing of the public flaunting of donor power in support of Johnson.
Those two episodes are like searchlights through the murk of this gathering authoritarian gloom – and those moments revealed the truth as never before. They also show why Starmer is no answer – and that is the depth of the present tragedy.
What can be done then? If there is nothing to be hoped for from Labour should we all get behind the Lib Dems and Greens?
Choose ABC
Anything but Conservative
That might require voting Labour with considerable reluctance in some places
