Since it seems many readers here do not use Twitter I thought it worth sharing this, which is brilliant and has apparently been watched 5 million times in a day:
"Mother of God, you must think we were born yesterday, fella."

The other noteworthy line from it: “Your corruption was mistaken for incompetence”…
indeed
Powerful.
Oscar winning stuff that – and I’m not talking about Boris either.
We should all copy it and send to your local Tory MP.
That’s great. Thanks for posting it.
Mendacious Fatberg operates +/- like a showman. & like the showman of yesteryear – PT Barnum – he clearly subscribes to the view “a sucker is born every minute”. Furthermore, many seemingly intelligent people (ex-wives, sisters etc) support him, regardless of the lies and subterfuges – showing that intelligent people can still be duped. Since he is keen on Latin quotes, I have one a good one the applies to him when he eventually departs the political stage:
sic transit anus mundi.
Mike, I regret saying this, but I think the key here is ‘seemingly’ intelligent. If people can’t see Johnson for what he is by now, then they aren’t intelligent.
In retrospect people like Led By Donkeys will be seen as unsung heroes of this period. Individuals who stood up to be counted.
Your readers don’t use Twitter? Where do they get their news from? I find Twitter by far the easiest and quickest way to get to original reports, research, academics, journalists and other experts. Often it seems to be the only way to get to them. I have heard that there are pile-ons and abuse, but so far in five years, I have not found that at all, it has just been a really excellent, and very amusing way, to find out what is going on. If you are new to Twitter just find someone you trust, like Richard here, who will be a discerning user of Twitter, and follow the people whom he follows.
I agree with you
I think it a vital news source
But given the number of comments sent to me I have to ignore them
Thanks Richard for your out-takes from twitter. And Tristram Hicks, there are those among us who do not / will not set up a twitter account.
This quite interesting. I have found that many people, normally those who have never used Twitter, are unusually vehement about it. I understand why the mainstream media rail against Twitter as it poses a direct threat to them by allowing ordinary folk to curate their own news. But why else would people form this view? Sorry to pose such a question on someone else’s blog, but in my view the Mainstream Media Media in the UK is a threat to democracy and Twitter provides some balance against the threat.
I think Twitter enormously valuable
And that is despite being heavily trolled today
Trolling happens anywhere. Consider “Peter” and his effort to build ‘democracy’ by increasing the electorate that support his view by creating multiple identities to engage with you on your blog!
The multiple identity thing is really interesting
I had more than 300 attacks on Twitter today
But how many were real?
It’s the bollocking he should have had – that’s what so good about this.
Just need the Line of Duty team to work for the Met.
On second thoughts, maybe they should be investigating the Met!
