It does seem that this government is only ever wondering what biscuits to have for elevenses. Each morning they seem to arise from their slumber, find a comfy chair and ponder a late morning cuppa and then what to have for lunch. Even the afternoon seems a bit of a surprise when it comes.
After reading the Guardian’s headline news that a “Lack of Covid tests forcing NHS GPs and nurses to stay off work”:-

I hardly think anyone can describe the Conservative Party nine months on as sane for allowing this to happen, the undermining of the country’s healthcare system!
Are the Treasury professionals? and are they blind to the consiquences. If they are then just because they were taught one method is not an excuse. Professionals have a duty to keep their knowledge up to date. I am a mining engineer and have to improve methods, design and equipment to stop accidents and reduce costs. Many years ago a shift boss lost part of his hand because a detonator exploded when it was supposed to be safe. The insulation between the electrical supply and the casing was unreliable and was set off by static electricity. We immediately changed to a safer and more expensive type of detonator and convinced the authorities to ban the unsafe detonators.
Loans?
Honestly?
How can you say you are helping someone by loading them with debt at times like this?
It’s nonsense. It’s immoral.
It’s Government help as interpreted by the City of London. That’s what it is. It has no place here at all.
