I like this announcement on the Office for Budget Responsibility web site:
I am hoping the election does not change this: I presume it was already taken into account, and as a matter of fact the Office for Budget Responsibility has a legal duty to report twice a year, which would be nigh on impossible if it did not report next week.
I admit I did not think Robert Chote would do this. I am pleased he has. This may come to bite the Tory hand that has fed him.

Given that the Johnson/Cummings axis seems to want to break the Tory party I think it the right question to ask.
I always thought that creating a supposedly independent watch dog for politician’s spending was one of the most stupid ploys I have ever seen. I mean – what does it tell you about the what the Tories think governing is about? As though we can’t trust politicians to manage budgets or fiscal policy when the Government IS the bank. It’s a nice way to try to stop MMT. And when you compare government to what goes on in the credit money & wealth creation universe that is The City – a place where you can place a bet on a company’s performance but also bribe politicians in order to get policies put in place that bring about that drop in performance?
There is lot a fuss at the moment about the number of MPs leaving parliament with even Polly Toynbee calling the Pig in a Wig Nicky Morgan ‘a moderate’. There’s lots of worries about the female MPs leaving for example (how sad – no!).
Moderate? What the f**k is she talking about? The biggest question for me now is how can anyone be a Conservative? One of the nastiest, ignorant, fascist, destructive, uncaring and repellent political parties in my life time. To me, saying that you are one negates any claim one might have to calling ones self a human being. My last memory of Morgan will be sitting on the bench next to Johnson, her face hatefully twisted goading Corbyn like one of the boys.
The female Tory MPs are crying crocodile tears. Their own party has done more than any other to sow the seeds of division in our society since 2010, including the behaviour of a particular crappy female PM. I have no pity or empathy for them.
Tough shit Tory girls (and Tory boys too). You reap what you sow………….you reap what you sow.
Ahhhhhh…..bless…
