Today Martin Wolf of the Financial Times pens his criticism of the current pack of neoliberal / populist politicians – who do “Stupid stuff”.
Amongst the stupid stuff he recognises:
1. “nationalist-populist-protectionist” stupid stuff;
2. “austerity-as-secular-religion” stupid stuff;
and ends – “the refusal to accept the alternative, namely, fiscal policy. People are petrified of government borrowing even though lenders are prepared to pay for the privilege.” https://www.ft.com/content/de93525a-ee66-11e9-ad1e-4367d8281195
