I was amused by an article in the FT this morning that says that Brexit has massively increased the importance of politics in people's dating profiles. We know, of course, because so much dating is now in the hands of professional and online match-makers.
I am not surprised. I think it must be very difficult to have a relationship with a Brexiteer if you are a Remainer.
And having a relationship with a Tory? Is that possible?
The divisions in opinion must be pretty much insurmountable.
I'll bear it in mind if ever I am on-line dating.

on election day I was on the doorstep for Labour (a first for a misogynist like me) and I had a few women saying that although they were supporters their husbands would be voting Tory.
This has been my experience many times when talking to couples over the years.
I`m not sure whether this points to the enduring power of love to overcome obstacles or the low interest/expectation many people have for politics.
I`m lucky to have hitched up with another loony lefty 40 years ago.

Sadly, a lot of people really seem to think that way.
There are a lot of good people who see party political bids for social justice as an abdication of personal responsibility to look after the less fortunate. (I am not one of them.)
