This is a video I made for City, University of London which I realised I had not shared before.
For the record it was unscripted and made in one take. If there are flaws, that's why.

Excellent video. Most impressive … even if it had been scripted and necessitated several takes. Maybe this could be a new initiative for 2017? The Richard Murphy Channel. As you know YouTube has an amazing reach.
I need someone to do the editing…
Maybe someone at the Uni could hlp? http://www.city.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/music-sound-and-technology.
The more I think about it, the more I feel there may be a potential ‘market’ for simple, no-nonsense videos explaining key topics you have raised over the years. Or even condensing essential elements from your books down to 5-10 minute presentations.
If there’s one lesson to be garnered from the dialogue on your blog it’s the need to get the solutions out to a wider audience and preferably a young one. I’ll bet you’ve learned a lot from your teaching experience which would translate into a wider audience.
While there’s a lot of related info available on YouTube most of it isn’t in a form or language that ‘ordinary’ people can readily grasp, so they probably lose interest. And much is simply videos of (boring) academic lectures. I like the RSA Animate presentations but they’re probably very expensive to make and also lack topicality & immediacy re. current issues.
Could such a projct be an official one under the University’s banner? Although I do like the idea of a Richard Murphy Channel.
I wonder what other posters here think.
Please forgive my audacity for making these suggestions. As if you haven’t got enough to do – lol 😉
It’s something I haven’t thought of doing – I will investigate
Brilliant idea! Just keep it simple for the likes of me!
Thanks Chris
Have a great Scilly Christmas
This is a perfect media to pitch ideas at a wider audience. Apart form a Uni genrated response why not approach forums with an existing audience, TED for example? https://www.ted.com/
