In the latest Tax Justice Network podcast: How a conman can devastate the lives of thousands of ordinary people, aided and abetted by the offshore industry - banks, law firms and accountants all happy to look the other way and not ask questions. Plus: we discuss the latest leak from the Bahamas, #BahamasLeaks and Apple's 13 billion euro underpaid tax bill: a defining moment in the battle between the low/no-tax world big corporations would like to see and democratic, accountable governance in the public interest.
“Apple deliberately, puposely, and for many decades has rejected the values and benefts that flow from democracy and fair markets...Markets are being rigged by big companies like Apple and by their tax advisors and by countries who do these deals.”
John Christensen, Tax Justice Network on #AppleTax
“The UK is the most corrupt country on earth, anyone with a modicum of interest in corruption will tell you that the City of London is the biggest Laundromat of corrupt money and black money and drug money that there is.”

I’m so fed up with Microsoft’s products (the Kremlin like updates they issue are causing huge problems every where) that I am seriously considering getting some Apple stuff.
But Apple look increasingly dodgy to me – and even though the products and the stability of them is attractive I’ve got to say that I do not like the company at all.
What else is available folks? Any ideas?
Word to the wise. Apple are just as bad on software updates. They are once every three months average and GUARANTEED to be followed days later by a patch uodate. So much so people are delaying uodates for two weeks circa just to be sure no viruses have been let in !!
I am deferring one right now on my iPad every day….
PSR
Linux.
But I’ve many times tried to educate myself sufficiently in its intricacies to be able to use it.
And had to admit defeat every time (sigh)
I tried once
I admit not for long
It remained me of the old days of the C> prompt
Some will not have a clue what I am talking about

When did you last try Linux?
Current Ubuntu Linux is about like Windows XP/7 to use – you need next to no command line / C> skills, and if you want to run Office apps you can use 365 from your browser the same as you would on Windows or macOS.
And unlike Android (which is Linux for smartphones) you can get security upgrades regularly.
Worth another look. I’m planning to come off macOS soon with my laptop – the only reason I’m now tied to Apple at all is my genealogy program, Reunion.
I admit some time ago….
XP was the last Windows of use
Thanks for you help! I’ll give it a look-see.
