I am travelling to Orlando today. No, I have not had a sudden mid-life urge to do Disney: I am speaking on The Joy of Tax at a conference of the American Tax Association on Friday. This means that usual blogging patterns may not happen and moderation may take a long time - especially when mid-Atlantic today. Please don't get ratty with me and start emailing to ask why I am ignoring you, as often happens on such occasions. I will just be otherwise engaged.

Say hello to mickey for me!
I em definitgely ignoring Mickey
All the best Richard….but I often wonder, in the era of skype etc why the air miles have to be ratcheted up so much when video conferencing is so easy? Yes..I appreciate that face to face dialogue is better and that networking might be easier that way…but does that really trump environmental issues? Bill Mitchell seems to jet around the world constantly despite his attestations of environmental concern. This is one area where technology can offset the environmental costs it creates – strange we don’t take it.
I only do this if I thiunk i significant
I am doing 90 minutes in front of 300 people
I think that significant enough
Please make sure that you do not come back with any of that American Dream BS on you. It seems to dazzle everyone else who goes over there.
Do you think that you might need to go into quarantine upon your return?
I have no intention of adjusting to the US in such a short trip
I promise you
And I will not be buying any headgear
