Jonathan Fisher QC has an article in The Times this morning that suggests that he would welcome HSBC prosecutions. The Times paywall is one most people will not wish to penetrate, and to some degree doing so in this case is not what matters. Who is saying this is what matters.
Jonathan Fisher is a barrister who, according to Wikipedia is :
a London barrister specialising in corporate and financial crime, proceeds of crime and tax cases. He is also a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics.
You might think he has something to gain from a prosecution.
More important still, he's close to the Conservative Party.
So my question is to ask if he's dropping a subtle hint? I think he might be.

All I can say to that is ‘fingers crossed’!!
Mark,
Agreed!
At a time when the Tories are carping on about making new offences applicable in the Health Service and Social Services to reassure service users I have still yet to see a legal framework that will make Bankers more accountable or liable to go to prison for what the Bankers call ‘market making’.
spot on, Mark!
I would be highly surprised if any prosecution will happen! Due to my experience in Switzerland it will be looked at the matter very closely by authorities in order to find out what kind of reasoning can be found NOT to investigate and more importantly NOT to prosecute and on top of it a delaying tactic makes the matter a blast from the past! That is the reality not only in Switzerland I assume in the UK as well.

Thanks for your comment
No one knows more about this than you
I hope you are well?

I’m not yet able to establish the veracity of this article and not sure whether this is old or new news but it might be worth noting. “BBC HANDED EXPLOSIVE EVIDENCE OF MASSIVE CORRUPTION THAT COULD TOPPLE THE BRITISH ESTABLISHMENT!
by Tom Steele · 5th March 2015
Gordon Bowden is an ex RAF officer who has spent the last 13 years uncovering detailed and forensic evidence of massive corruption within the British establishment that involves Lords, Politicians and the Monarchy.
The evidence that he is witnessed and recorded handing into the BBC to do their own full investigation, is set to reveal the biggest political corruption scandal in British history, that included the setup of a colossal 250,000 “shell virtual oil and gas companies” registered from a few house addresses in Finchley Rd London, and linked to the most prominent people at the core of the British establishment. These companies were deliberately set up to steal and rob BILLIONS UPON BILLIONS of pounds from the public and asset strip the whole country!”

I know people who have done a lot of work on the Companies House data base including searching addresses in detail
No one I know of has found hundreds of thousands of companies in Finchley Road
So, to be honest, I am sceptical right now
