The endorsements for the Fair Tax Mark continue to flow in. This one is by the editor of International Tax Review (who said I may reproduce it):
It looks like we need to get a move on with the multinational corporation version.
If anyone wants to suggest methodology they're welcome to do so but remember the focus is on:
- tax policy
- transparency about what the business does
- tax accounting
- disclosing tax avoidance
And for reasons already noted, the focus has to be on corporation tax.
An interesting question arises. Would Starbuck’s gain the Fair Tax Mark given its accounts? Given that it really was making losses even after the royalties and coffee bean margins are added back in. Both things that were explained in the accounts.
Starbucks is a multinational
We have only issued UK based Mark as yet
I suspect they will not comply with MNC Mark when it comes
