The time has come to stop for Christmas. It has been a gruelling year and I need a break.
So, I suspect that I'll now take a break for a week, expecting to return on 30 December with a review of the year.
To all who read this, I hope you have a very good and not too taxing Christmas (couldn't resist that) and thanks for reading.
And PS: if I don't moderate your comments in the meantime, now you know why.

Much as I enjoy reading your blog I was hoping you would have a break as you have an unrelenting schedule. You do good work on behalf of all of us (well the 99% ‘to coin a phrase’ !) I often see things here of which I’d otherwise be unaware. So thank you and enjoy the company of family and friends /Friends.
“Tax” avoidance umh?
Richard,
Can’t thank you enough for all the hard work you do for the greater majority of the people of this and other nations.
I thread with fascination all your posts and blogs and am a better person for it.
I do my best to pass on the good word too.
May your break be peaceful and restful and you return refreshed to continue the good fight.
Warmest Rgds
Thanks!
Have a good Christmas
Happy Christmas to you and your family Richard.
Happy xmas & best wishes for a New Year which, sad to say, looks likely only to get worse.
Cheers anyway
Compliments of the season to you and your family Richard.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Hey Mr. M., Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Enjoy!
Quakers referred to this period as “the time of year known as Christmas” and thought it a complete aberration . never the less, I wish you a regenerating break and warmly thank you for your hard work which holds a candle of light against the dark miasma of neo-liberalism – good wishes to your family.
Good to notice that the shops aren’t hyping it up as much as in the past. I have personally noticed that the hype won’t quite work anymore.
Worth reading the site set up by the Mennonites ( they sahre much with Quakerism):
