Gove’s failings are threefold: Economic illiteracy; education illiteracy;spiritual illiteracy.
he said in a recent interview that ‘the game was over’ for those ‘choosing’ a life on benefits, thereby stereotyping some of the poorest and needy in our communities. The man is a foul excrescence.
Personally, Richard, I would re-label the digram to show Michael Gove as Y, and Misunderstanding as Z, to show that there’s a VAST area of Gove’s perception which doesn’t even reach the level of misunderstanding, but is part of the cone of impossibility in cosmology, where the rules of science prevent ANY knowledge reaching us, since most of Gove’s thinking seems to come from another dimension, but when Gove’s brain DOES lock onto anything, all it produces is misunderstanding.
The idea of having an Education Secretary who has never stood in front of a class, so knows NOTHING about teaching, is like a parody of the old “bumbling generalist” idea, the Macmillanite “shamateur-cum Country gentleman” beloved of British post-war politics. The difference is that such people were at least well-intentioned.
Gove, by contrast, is rather like those rats that gnaw on the electric cables, sometimes electrocuting themselves, sometimes causing a fire, but often simply just causing the system to fail. He’s proved exceptionally adept at pulling off this last effect!
I did think about that…..but it was the best downloaded of the day…..
