The Economist is getting tax havens right under its skin

Posted on

The Economist has smelt the coffee and has begun to realise it's game over for tax havens, or so it would seem from a whole series of articles it has published. Start here and move on to:

Storm survivors
Enduring charms
The OFCs' economic role: The good, the bad and the Ugland
Onshore financial centres: Not a palm tree in sight
Tax transparency: Automatic response
Company taxation: The price isn't right
The merry enablers
Switzerland and its rivals: Rise of the midshores
Who's the criminal?
Prospects: Sunshine and shadows

I do not by any means endorse all that is said. But this represents a change for the Economist, and that's welcome.
