Global Witness produced the images that follow, very recently. I reproduce them with their permission. They're powerful for one good reason. They're just what happens. Crime is as easy as they portray. The question is, which politicians are willing to stand up and change this?

Thankfully we are not all “idiots” and most of us do have a moral responsibility to pay our taxes on time and full, whilst multi-millionaires, on both sides of the House of Commons, wring their hands in faux distaste over the immorality of tax avoidance when (almost) the entire country knows that it is their lack of political which deprives the Exchequer of at least £100 bn every year.
Meanwhile HMRC continues to sack thousands of employees to the entertainment of the mega rich and the despair of the majority of people suffering a recession they did not cause.
And the patter of rain and the bleating of sheep is all that is heard in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man as tax avoidance mechanisms grind ruthlessly on in silence and secrecy.
UK 2012
I like it, and we are all being taken to the cleaners.
Isn’t it about time we classified these people as traitors! I sort of understand that we are only getting back what our bankers have dished up for others but nobody has ever had the courage to stand up and explain in a way that would be heard until very recently. Even now most people don’t know what has happened and the press and other media seem to have a conspiracy of silence though I suspect they know where the culpability lies.
