I think a lot of people are frustrated that there's nothing they think they can do about tax cheats. Well now there is. 38 Degrees are sending this petition to David Cameron:
Dear David Cameron,
It's great to hear you say you want to clamp down on tax-dodging. Please back up your promise with real action to put a stop to the billions of pounds of tax that goes unpaid each year in the UK:
- Bring in a strong general anti-avoidance principle to close tax loopholes and clamp down on all tax-dodging
- Put honest taxpayers and small businesses first - stop allowing those who can afford fancy lawyers to dodge their tax
- Make sure HMRC gets enough money and staff to properly enforce the law

Please think about the discourse you use: your dogged focus on benefits cheats whilst leaving out the people really cheating society through tax loopholes is a silly bias that distorts reality.
Good luck changing this, know that many people are behind you – I know it will be hard for you personally as it will affect many of your friends, who will no doubt be against it and try to put pressure on you. Do the right thing!
But he is ‘rolling out the red carpet’ for the French?!
