Britain's bosses have been accused of greed and ignoring economic reality after boardroom pay leapt by 55% over the last year.
FTSE 100 directors saw their total earnings soar in the 12 months to June, thanks to sharp rises in bonuses and performance-related pay. The average FTSE 100 chief executive now earns £4.9m a year, or almost 200 times the average wage.
And you still don’t believe me that there is a deliberate policy to divide society?
If not, why not? The evidence is clear. And we know the harm is significant.
Now do something about it, please.

John Lewis is proof that a collaborative approach to business can be profitable, ethical and can build a brand to be proud of. The business still acknowledes the need for management and leadership. However, the constitution contains one very powerful message:
They are in it together and many other businesses should take note.

I do not have the exact numbers, but I seem to remember that well over 50% of CEOs of FTSE 100 companies are either foreign nationals (mostly Americans), or have had extensive careers outside the UK (again, primarily in the United States).
So our companies will have to offer employment terms, including compensation, that will be competitive with (or indeed better than) what these professionals will be able to obtain in the global market place. Effectively, we will have to match the terms of CEO packages in the United Sates. Since all this is negotiated in Dollars, the fact that the Pound has dropped 30% in 2 years has helped to push up compensation costs measured in Sterling.
The question is: why are we in the UK incapable of producing world class coporate leaders and why do we need to impart so much talent (in fairness we also export a little, but the balance is massively negative). Very few foreigners lead French or German companies.
One easy explanation is that our business education system is simply not in the same league as that of the United Sates.
