Amazingly, the wheels may be starting to come off the Conservative juggernaut – the Ipsos/MORI poll in yesterday’s Observer shows the gap narrowing to 6 points. It’s quite possible that this is at least partly because people are scrutinising Tory plans more closely and finding them severely wanting. Dave Cameron was just incoherent talking about his plan for an “emergency budget” yesterday. It feels like the momentum is all with Labour at the moment – which I must admit surprises me, as I thought they were out for the count under Brown. But anyway, we shall see…
