I mentioned last week I was reviewing comment policy on this blog.
I have done so. Please see the new policy, which is here.
I just reviewed a batch of comments. 80% failed the new tests. They were deleted.
Think of it like writing to a newspaper: no paper guarantees to publish your letter if you do so. I reserve that same editorial freedom.
It will still be quite easy to get comments on here: but they must meet these criteria.

I’m pleased that most of the comments I make are published.
I think that some I’ve made comply with the rules but haven’t been published, which is a shame.
Its always interesting to read the blog entries, but sometimes I don’t understand some of the arguments, like the inference that PCCs are “bad” or facilitate money laundering; I genuinely would like to understand some of the rationale for these views, as I am sure would other readers of the blog.

Thanks for that link; a little one sided, and containing factual errors.
It for example makes no mention of the use of PPC or SPCs for Collective Investment Schemes.
I wholeheartedly agree about both the Tobin-Tax and Cameron’s Hugo Young Lecture. I tried to get them discussed last night on BBC Question Time in Weston-super-Mare. I submitted questions on both issues in the hope that one would get selected. It was not to be, the BBC and/or the studio audience wanted to talk about the Sun’s publication of the PM’s letter to a grieving mother, immigration (it’s becoming a national phobia) and the MOD’s payment of bonuses to staff. A bit sad really – I was as bored in the audience as Wilf Self appeared to be on the panel.
